Perm Prosecutor's Office conducted an inspection of the local community center for LGBT, which provides psychological and legal assistance for lesbians, gays, and bisexual and transgender people. During the inspection, no violations of the Russian legislation were inspected, and no “propaganda” found. However, during the inspections the police significantly exceeded its authority.

On November 20, 2015, the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women made recommendations to the Russian Federation, including some on the status of lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LBTI) women in Russia. OSCE published data on hate crimes in Russia for 2014. It turned out, that 73 cases out of 336 monitored – are hate crimes against gays, lesbians, and bisexual and transgender people. As the coordinator of the monitoring program put it, these numbers are only the top of the iceberg.

The all-Russian Forum of LGBT activists took place in Moscow in November 7-9. 150 people from 26 cities of Russia participated. The Forum was organized by the Russian LGBT Network and became the space to share experience and communicate for various LGBT organizations, initiative groups and activists. The Forum demonstrated that despite the difficult situation with LGBT rights in Russia, the movement is alive, developing and gets stronger.

The Russian LGBT Network drew preliminary results of the survey on the violation of human rights and discrimination against LGBTQI+ in Russia. It turned out, that LGBTQI+ minors and young people are more likely to face sexual, physical and psychological violence and twice more often face problems with housing.

Recently, the Russian LGBT Network received the first answer to the question whether psychological associations believe that homosexuality is pathology. In his letter, EFPA President Telmo Mourinho Baptista confirmed that “both heterosexual behavior and homosexual behavior are scientifically seen as normal aspects of human sexuality”. EFPA President also pointed to the Meta-Code of Ethics, which all psychologists with the certificate EuroPsy must abide by. Including Lidia Matveeva, who prepared a highly controversial expert report regarding the case of Elena Klimova and “Children-404”.

Today the City Court of St. Petersburg closed a case against Elena Klimova and group Children-404 in the social network Vkontakte and thus overturned a judgment of the Oktyabrsky district court. Now the big decision is about to be taken in the court of Barnaul.

Today the Russian LGBT Network submitted the requests to three psychological associations: Russian Psychological Society, International Union of Psychological Science and European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations. The requests were devoted to associations' attitude towards “sexual orientation and gender identity, including various aspects of “norm” and “pathology”. The expert report in the proceedings against Elena Klimova and the group Children-404 prepared by the professor of the Moscow State University and member of the Russian Psychological Society became the ground for the requests.

On August 17, the case of the assault on Dmitriy Chizhevsky who lost sight on one eye as a result of the attack on the community center LaSky in 2013, was submitted to the ECHR. Right after the assault, the criminal proceedings under the article 213 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism) were initiated. However, in October 2014 the proceedings were suspended due to the failure to establish a person liable to answer the charge. Neither survivor, nor advocates obtained access to the full materials on the course of the investigation.

On July 25, a Round table titled “All people are different - all people are equal: interaction and cooperation in the struggle for equality” was held in St. Petersburg. The round table was organized by the Legal Service Center “Spartak” in collaboration with the Russian LGBT Network. The participants included representatives of LGBT movement as well as representatives of Russian Trade Unions.
